Happy birthday to my brother @sausage_lynx, the worst/best selfie-taker I know, lover of smoked meats and everything Buffalo, a relentlessly enthusiastic person who will bodily drag you kicking and screaming into a good time, whether you like it or not. The occasion of your birth is an excellent excuse to share the only good pic we’ve ever taken together at your wedding to @theclobearreport where we were left unattended and somehow not sold to the circus. Love ya, bro.
The anniversary of the ADA seemed like a good time to intro my new walking stick, Penelope! Thanks to long COVID, I’ve been dealing with increased fatigue, vertigo, and joint pain. I don’t need her all the time but Penelope is a godsend on hard days. Mobility aids are liberating, empowering, and nothing to be ashamed of. Disability isn’t a dirty word; it’s a rich and diverse community of people who deserve respect. By the way, since we’re talking about #ada32 , it’s important to note that remote work flexibility is a disability rights issue, as are COVID measures like mask mandates, air filtration standards, and remote event access. And no diversity, equity, and inclusion plan is complete without including disabled people. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. #disabilityjustice #chronicillness #longcovid #longhauler #hearstelevatorselfie
